On various literary matters, one letter containing a rhymed epitaph ("Here lies Walter / Who dodged the halter / But one fine day Sir / Borrowed a razor / And a pinch of O. acid / So now he lies placid"); and another containing nineteen lines of an incomplete poem beginning "Sleek, striped and hairy / The steed of the Fairy / Princess of Lee."
